As a painter, my desire is to pass on to the viewer the spirit of what I see.  Life is so fleeting that we rarely stop to notice the beauty in simple things.

Before I begin a painting, I have a concept in mind and am compelled to paint it.  Light and its effect on the subject, composition, value and technique are important elements in bringing the image forth.  I endeavor to understand and convey the unique qualities of the subject that made me want to paint it in the first place.

My paintings are vignettes of life as I see it.  I try to capture moments in time. It is a joy for me to savor these moments and later share my experience with others through my paintings.
